Living Victoriously in Perilous Times

All people who believe in God and the Lord Jesus Christ must not be dismayed when the world is taking a turn for the worse. Thousands of years ago the Lord Jesus Christ saw what was going to happen during our time and gave us a warning in advance. Matthew 24, Luke 21, John 15, and 16. The Almighty God surely knows how to sustain His own in times of adversity. We serve a faithful, loving and gracious God. He supports and protects His own at all times. Psalms 20, 23 and 91. Our God is the All-Sufficient One (El-Shaddai). As you read this post please know that you and I are not mistakes of nature or products of fate. We were created in the celestial image of God. He who created us and put us on this planet is perfecting His will and purpose pertaining to our lives.

So you and I must be confident in this world. That the world is going through its final stages of moral decay before the advent of our Lord Jesus Christ shouldn’t amaze us because the Lord Jesus and His holy apostles predicted that this would happen before the earth finishes its sinful career. Take heart my beloved in the Lord. This world is just about to finish its sinful career. We live at a time when the Lord Jesus Christ can literally come at any time. That is why we see many bishops, priests, pastors and church leaders waver at defending the full gospel choosing to swim in agreement with the tide of a dying world. 1 Timothy 4 verses 1-6, 2 Timothy 3 verses 1-5, 2 Thessalonians 2 verses 3, 4
Take heart this day. You and I are alive for a purpose. That purpose shall indeed be consummated by the zeal of God and His holy Christ.
Confession: “I am more than a conquerer through my Lord Jesus Christ. I am a world changer. There is nothing and there is noone in this world who can derail me from shining for my Lord Jesus Christ. There is no demon anywhere that can confound, confuse, possess, obsess or defeat me because Christ lives in me through his righteous and infallible Word, the Bible. I am what God’s Word declares me to be, and I can do all those things God says I am capable of doing. Poverty, lack, directionlessness and hopelessness are not my portion. I am rising, I am shining and I am excelling so as to bring glory and honour to my heavenly Father God.” Amen. May you and I be blessed forevermore in Jesus’ mighty name.

The Power of Self- Motivation

Published by: Divine Kingdom Baptist Ministries

In this life we all meet many different situations. Some situations are encouraging and unfortunately some circumstances are discouraging. It bears noting that how we respond to different situations does really depend on the situations themselves but on our attitude towards them. In this life attitude determines altitude. How far one goes in this life does really depend on personal circumstances but on one’s attitude towards those circumstances.
Take for instance the sun. The sun is a star which rules in the solar system. The sun contributes to life on earth but it also releases heat. There are times when this heat can become so much that different things and people respond in different ways. Take for example wax – it melts when heated by the sun, but clay hardens when heated by the sun. I do not know who among the readers of this article/sharing have melted under the heat of negative circumstances and situations. Today I write to you to inform you that by the grace of the Lord your nature is subject to change for the better.
When going through trials (not IF going through trials because we all meet trials in life) we must predetermine that we shall remain strong come what may. In Proverbs 24 verse 10 the word says, “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.” KJV, The New Living Translation puts it this way, “If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small.” My prayer is that let there be none whose strength is found wanting in times of adversity.
Self-motivation is one of the key ingredients of remaining strong in times of adversity. What do we mean by self-motivation? To define self-motivation, we need to first define motivation. The term motivation is an academic word which means two different but related things. First, it means a reason or reasons for acting or behaving in a particular way. This is the meaning which we are interested in this sharing. Second, from a hypothetico-deductive perspective (the science method), motivation means a set of facts and arguments used in support of a proposal. This meaning is academic. It is not the subject of the present treatise. Motivation in the first sense also means, internal and external factors that stimulate desire and energy in people to be continually interested and committed to a job, role or subject, or to make an effort to attain a goal (courtesy of http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition/motivation.html). The latter definition of motivation is comprehensive but has two major facets. The first facet is that motivation has an internal dimension. It is this internal dimension that is the subject of this sharing.
Self-motivation is internal motivation. It is the motivation which we give ourselves from within for continuing to do certain things and believing they will succeed despite the odds. There is NOTHING in this world that can stop a self-motivated person or people from achieving their goals. In fact, there are only two people who can stop you from achieving your goals. The first person is God. But the Lord gave us a human will which he respects. That is why he permits us to make decisions on our own and bear their consequences. God has nothing to gain from stopping you, me or anyone from achieving our noble goals in life. He is for you succeeding and making it in this life and in eternity (Jeremiah 29 verses 11-13, Matthew 6 verses 25-34, John 14 verses 1, 10-14, 23-27, 15 verses 1-8).
The second person who can stop you from achieving your goals is YOU…Maybe some people expected me to say the devil or demons. I have good news for you. Ever since the Lord Jesus Christ came to this earth, he defeated the devil and his demons on the cross (Colossians 2 verses 11-15) and made a show of them by triumphing over them through the cross. So satan and his demons are defeated enemies. satan and demons have no legal power over children of God. That doesn’t mean that satan does not try to use deception to usurp the authority that God’s children have on earth. The other good news I have for you is that as a believer, the only power or authority that satan can exercise in your life is the power or authority that you decide to give him either through your actions or by allowing ignorance to take root in your life. One way in which we may yield our God-given authority to the devil is by allowing anger to take root in our lives. This anger produces bitterness and unforgiveness which satan and his demons use as doorways to intrude our lives to attempt to derail us from fulfilling our God-given mission. That is why in Ephesians 4 verses 27 & 28, the word says, “BE ANGRY, AND yet DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity.” (The emphasis is mine). It is natural to be angry, but to do sin as a result of anger is not natural to men. That is why if any of us do or say stuff when we are angry, afterwards we feel guilty in our consciences and often-times we try to make amends.
Self-motivation involves positive affirmations based on how the Lord who created us views us. As far as the Lord is concerned you and I are his image, nothing more, nothing less. It is up to you and me to decide to see ourselves as God sees us. Is God a failure? Can God thwarted from achieving his will or purpose? First, we know God NEVER fails. Second, we know that God is the Supreme Being in the whole universe. As such there is nothing and no one that can stop him from accomplishing his will. We can therefore boldly say, “God’s will and purpose shall prevail for all eternity.” Since you and I are according to Greek poets and the Word, the offspring of God (Acts 17 verses 26-28), we have what it takes to produce light in darkness, plenty where there is lack, a vision where there is confusion, progress where there is stagnation and happiness where there is sadness.
Confession: “I am what the Word of God says I am, I can do those things that the Word of the Lord says I can do. Failure is not my portion. Success is my birthright. I am justified, I am no longer condemned. In all circumstances and situations I am more than a conquerer. Holy messengers of the Lord are at my service as I fulfil God’s will for my life. I am rich, poverty has no place in my life. I have knowledge, grace and wisdom. Folly and ignorance are not my portion. I am going forward only and never backward. All is well with me.”
Prayer: “Dear heavenly Father I pray for myself and your children reading this post: I ask that you grant those with low self-esteem a mighty revelation of who they actually are from your perspective. I pray that you preserve me and my own from deception and empower me to succeed. I ask that you grant me wisdom in my heart and mind, so that I may serve others and the agenda of your heavenly Kingdom here on earth. I thank you heavenly Father because you have answered my prayer today. I shall begin to testify about the goodness and grace of God. Success from you is my birthright. I give you praise Lord and I thank you. I say all these words in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen”
